Southern Center For Human Services 

The Southern Center for Human Services (SCHS) is a program of the National Institute for Human Development.  It operates under the auspices of NIHD.  The SCHS embodies and embraces the mission, goals and objectives of NIHD.  The SCHS is a regional community, faith-based organization located in Montgomery, Alabama.

Programs

The Southern Center for Human Services partners with communities to enhance the education of today's youth.  It is committed to devoting time and resources to enrich our youth to build a bright, productive future in today's world.  The SCHS was instrumental in establishing the following:

  • The Rosa Parks Head Start Center which serves fifty (50) children
  • The After-School tutorial program for at-risk youth
  • The Senior Citizen Feeding program serving 75 meals monthly
  • The Ruth Robinson Food Pantry
  • The Computer Lab
  • The Leadership Training Institute
  • The Senior Citizens Resource Center
